JCLI operates on a conservative fiscal basis, with a $390,000 budget for a library system that has operated at $1 million or more per year in the past. We rely on donated goods and services, lots of volunteers, and of course membership contributions from our community.
Our main goal is to ensure that our library never closes again. We plan to build up our collection of books and other materials and steadily increase our open hours. We are also committed to opening the Illinois Valley, Williams, and Wolf Creek branches before the end of 2009.
