How You Can Help
There are many ways you can help reopen the doors of the Josephine Community Libraries. Become a Member If 10,000 Josephine County residents became a member at $100 each, we'd have $1 million to operate our libraries. This is not far-fetched--13,000 people voted YES for the 2006 library levy, which would have resulted in an average of $82 per household -- that's $1.06 million. All membership contributions are tax-deductible. Please make your check or money order to Josephine Community Libraries, Inc. and mail it to:
You may also use your PayPal account or major debit or credit card to make a secure online donation. What does it mean to be a member of Josephine Community Libraries? In order to assure long-term sustainability for the libraries in Josephine County, we propose a model based on public broadcasting in which we sell memberships to the library. However, everybody will have access to the library and its full services regardless of membership status. All members will have the pride of knowing they were instrumental in returning libraries to Josephine County. In addition, members enjoy benefits according to their level of membership, as described in the following table.
Current Requests Info table volunteers. We always need more staffers for our community event information tables. Tasks include providing information, answering questions, selling tee-shirts and window stickers, and signing up new volunteers. Training is provided and you'll always work with at least one other volunteer. Office furniture, computer, and copier. Parkway Village has donated office space, and we need office furniture, a computer, printer, and copier (or printer/copier/fax combo) . Library operations volunteers. We're starting to build our list of library staff volunteers. For any of these opportunities, please send e-mail to info@josephinelibrary.org or call 660-6531.
